Relationships with National Boxing Organizations:
- National Silver Gloves Tournament for Youth 8-15, which is sanctioned under the auspices of USA Boxing
As a participant in this major national tournament for youth boxing, Don Simkin, for many years, has been Chairman by the Silver Gloves Tournament of Region 1 and is in charge of all Silver Gloves bouts and tournament activities within Region 1 of New York State sanctioned by USA Boxing. Region 1 consists of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and the rest of New England. Region 1 is one of 8 regions encompassing the United States.
In 2008, the members of the National Silver Gloves’ membership in all 8 regions elected Don Simkin to the National Silver Gloves Hall of Fame as a result of his contribution to youth in amateur boxing.
In 1975, Don Simkin, through Rochester St. Martin Boxing Club, started the Junior Olympics in the Niagara District of the Junior Olympics, which consists of New York State from Syracuse to Buffalo, including all of Western New York. At that time, the Junior Olympics was under the auspices of AAU boxing and subsequently, during 1975, the program switched to be governed by USA Boxing.

An association with Golden Gloves franchise located in Buffalo, which franchise is one of 22 national franchises throughout the country culminating with a national tournament, wherein one boxer is named national championship of his weight division. Push-Up Frazier, affiliated with Rochester St. Martin Boxing Club, had the good fortune of being a national champion.
On a regular basis, the Club participates in boxing shows in the Eastern USA and Canada, wherein many of the boxing participants are from clubs in the United States, Canada and such areas as Europe, Cuba and Puerto Rico. Also, Rochester St. Martin Boxing Club boxers are involved in many local shows in the Rochester area.
